AKF Student-Scholars

AKF runs a small program for student-scholars where young men and women who have distinguished themselves with their hard work, commitment and dynamism are awarded and assisted in the pursuit of higher knowledge with a view to serving society. The student-scholars are:

Muhammad Shahid

Muhammad Shahid is a student of MS Chemistry in Lahore University of Management and Sciences (LUMS). He has secured admission on merit basis and get 100% tuition fee waiver from LUMS. He has strong communication skills and working in many research projects in the field of Analytical Chemistry. He is an active member of different chemist societies at LUMS. AKF helped him to pay his initial fee deposits to secure admission in LUMS.

Faizan

Muhammad Faizan Mazhar

Muhammad Faizan Mazhar comes from an noble Lahori family of thinkers. His grandfather had a personal library of over 8,000 books – many of them English and Russian classics. He is a student in the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) Degree Programme at University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Lahore (UVAS). He has a strong passion for animal rights and welfare and actively asserts his role in safeguarding the rights of animal population of Lahore. He is an active member of various animal rights societies at UVAS.

Muhammad Tufail

Muhammad Tufail’s father Hazrat Bilal is one of Pakistan’s fearless Pathan warriors who lost his own father at the age of 10. Unable to acquire an education, he joined the Pakistan Navy at age 14 and vowed to educate all his children. His son, Muhammad Tufail grew up in the remote mountains of Buner, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and courageously completed school despite his village being in the grip of terrorists for some years. He went on to join the University of Swat, KPK and won the Gold Medal for BSc. Hons. in Statistics. He was awarded a govt. scholarship to pursue higher education in China which was taken from him due to nepotism and corruption. It is not deter him and he is now pursuing an M. Phil. Program in Statistics at Riphah International University Islamabad. In addition, he makes ends meet by working as an intern at the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics and tutoring at an Academy in the evening.He wrote a research paper: “Value of Homework: A Case Study of Tehsil Dagger, District Buner, KPK”.

Sabir Ali Talpur

Sabir Ali Talpur recently graduated in Visual Arts (BA Hons. Degree) from the prestigious National College of Arts, Lahore. He belongs to a poor and morally upstanding and inspired family from Tando Jam, Sindh. It was through battling against all odds that he secured admission to the National College of Arts.

Despite humble beginnings, he has acquired extensive knowledge and skill in drawing, painting, miniature, sculpture, print making and photography. He has taught drawing and  participated in a number of exhibitions. He is a Director of the MIME Theatre Society and Founder of the Direction Book Society. He has also performed at national-level drama festivals and cultural shows in Punjab and Sindh.
