Severe Monsoon Floods Devastate Pakistan

Severe Monsoon Floods Devastate Pakistan

Since June 2025, Pakistan has been experiencing one of the most severe monsoon seasons in recent years, resulting in widespread and deadly flooding. The provinces of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab have been among the hardest hit.
As of late August 2025:
  1. Nearly 1,000 lives have been lost nationwide since June 26.
  2. Over 1 million people have been affected by the disaster.
  3. More than 4,200 homes have been destroyed or severely damaged.
The heavy rains, intensified by climate change and accelerated glacier melt, have triggered flash floods and landslides, devastating thousands of homes, farmlands, and critical infrastructure.
